Central Receives Bookmarks for Students

Dr. Vivian Evans, principal at Central Elementary has created a campus culture that supports that the students and staff are on a R.O.L.L  (Restore Our Love of Learning) at the campus site! With that thought in mind, literacy has been a big part of the happenings at Central Elementary. Classroom teachers provide instruction in literacy. In addition to this, the library is also a place of supporting the love of literacy for kids.

SE Arkansas Educational Cooperative literacy specialists (Thea Capps, Karen Robinson, and Latanza Atkins)  sent tokens on behalf of ADE to each school district's library media department in SE Arkansas. Jan Hill, Takyra Hampton, and Yolander Brown attended the literacy training and brought the tokens back to Dumas for students. Bookmarks will be given to students during their time in the library during the remaining days of school for use during summer reading at home or the local library.

Receiving the tokens for library media are Dean of Students, Jacob Kuhn, and  Library Media Specialist, Julie Beth Moore.
