As part of the work with the state literacy coaches, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and TNTP collaborated to host lab experiences where opportunities were provided to strengthen content coaching expertise over a 3-day coaching cycle at two different times for a total of 6 days. Dumas' Reed Elementary was afforded the opportunity to be a host site for both February and May 2026.
Senior Manager of TNTP, Mr. Wil Redmond, coordinated all logistics with the Instructional Facilitator on site, Mrs. Takrya Williams-Hampton, and he served as the main point person for the 3-day events during both times. Supportive conversations to ensure all logistics were operable within the district included District Superintendent, Dr. Camille Sterrett, Director of Curriculum and Instruction K-12, Yolander Brown, Building Principal, Dr. Vivan Evans. The K-3 teachers were thankful for the experience, and it was beneficial for all!
Show on site at Reed are the Arkansas State Literacy Coaches, Mr. Wil Redmond and Mrs. Takrya Williams-Hampton.
