Dumas School District will start with a 1 hour delay January 23, 2024.

The Dumas School District will operate on a 1 hour delay tomorrow, January 23, 2024. There are still a few rural roads covered with ice where buses may not be able to travel. In this case, the district ask that parents transport their children to the end of the road for pickup. Buses will travel as many city street routes as possible. Please be patient with bus drivers as they do their best to make sure students arrive safely.

Due to hazardous road conditions, The Dumas School District will remain closed Monday January 22.

In observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Day, school will be closed Monday, January 15th. Also, any inclement weather updates will be shared on our website, social media page, and with local news stations.

Reminder: DSD will be closed on Monday January 15th, 2024 in observance of MLK Day.

Parents - The weather forecast for next week is predicting dangerously cold temperatures for much of the state, including Dumas. PLEASE make sure your child is appropriately dressed for this kind of weather. This includes long pants, long sleeve shirts or sweaters, warm socks and shoes, a coat that fits, and if possible, a hat and gloves. Our boys and girls go places during the school day, and many times this involves going out in the cold to get there, specifically the cafeteria for lunch and dismissal to go home. We will do our part at school to make sure your child stays warm throughout the day. Be safe and bundle up!

Special thanks to Mrs. Ernestine Hillard, for coming to our school to sprinkle a little Christmas joy to all of our after-school kids. Day 2 & 3 of Gifting from STC 💜💛Central Elementary School💜💛 Families were given a bag with a book and socks for students as they dropped off their children for school.

Central's Candy Factory walkthrough will be on Wednesday, December 20 beginning at 4:30 pm. The Christmas program will begin at 5:30 pm.
