Dumas High School ELA and Strategic Reading Teachers
As an additional layer of support for curriculum and instruction, DHS English Language Arts (ELA)/Strategic Reading teachers were provided with support on site in-district by DESE, Ms. Kelly Stone supported by Mrs. Uyolonda Wilson, DESE, on November 6, 2025.

With a focus on strengthening instruction, the Dumas Public School District has partnered with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), to provide instructional support via a High Quality Learning Provider.
Summer professional development was hosted with two full days for each campus followed by a fall session in a district-wide PD held on October 10, 2025.

On Tuesday, October 28, Arkansas Children’s Hospital and
Dumas first responders will be at DSD to conduct Code Blue Drills.
Please be aware that you may see an ambulance, fire truck, or
police car at our campuses, assisting with these drills.
These drills are crucial for creating a safe environment and
ensuring that staff and students are prepared to
respond effectively in a medical emergency.
On Tuesday, October 28, Arkansas Children’s Hospital and
Dumas first responders will be at DSD to conduct Code Blue Drills.
Please be aware that you may see an ambulance, fire truck, or
police car at our campuses, assisting with these drills.
These drills are crucial for creating a safe environment and
ensuring that staff and students are prepared to
respond effectively in a medical emergency.

DHS students were gifted chess boards and timers from Mr. Eric Nelson and The Dumas Alumni Association. Mr. Ng and the Chess Club extends their sincerest thanks for their generosity and kindness. Their donation has made a real difference for our club. The students were very excited, and it's great to see their enthusiasm grown even more with the new equipment.

The Dumas High School students went to the FBLA District III Leadership Conference on October 15 at the Grand Prairie Center in Stuttgart, AR. All officers were class of 2026 and were awarded medals for their official positions in FBLA.
