Dumas High School ELA and Strategic Reading Teachers
As an additional layer of support for curriculum and instruction, DHS English Language Arts (ELA)/Strategic Reading teachers were provided with support on site in-district by DESE, Ms. Kelly Stone supported by Mrs. Uyolonda Wilson, DESE, on November 6, 2025.

With a focus on strengthening instruction, the Dumas Public School District has partnered with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), to provide instructional support via a High Quality Learning Provider.
Summer professional development was hosted with two full days for each campus followed by a fall session in a district-wide PD held on October 10, 2025.
Wil Redmond, Lead TNTP Senior Manager, Jordunn Saladino and Dorian Myers led sessions for Reed Elementary, Dumas Middle School and Dumas High School.

Code Blue DRILLS
On Tuesday, October 28, Arkansas Children’s Hospital and
Dumas first responders will be at DSD to conduct Code Blue Drills.
Please be aware that you may see an ambulance, fire truck, or
police car at our campuses, assisting with these drills.
These drills are crucial for creating a safe environment and
ensuring that staff and students are prepared to
respond effectively in a medical emergency.

🏈 Game Day on the Road! 🏈 This Friday, our Bobcats travel to face Fordyce in a tough conference matchup that could decide the conference lead! 📅 October 24, 2025 📍 Fordyce High School ⏰ 7:00 PM 🎟️ $7.00 Let’s pack the stands and show them what Bobcat pride looks like—even on the road! Wear your purple and gold, be loud, and cheer our boys on to victory!

DHS students were gifted chess boards and timers from Mr. Eric Nelson and The Dumas Alumni Association. Mr. Ng and the Chess Club extends their sincerest thanks for their generosity and kindness. Their donation has made a real difference for our club. The students were very excited, and it's great to see their enthusiasm grown even more with the new equipment.

We want to keep you informed on what's going on. This will be a DRILL! Active Shooter/Lockdown Drill.
Dumas School District will team up with first responders to conduct active shooter/lockdown drills on the dates below. Please don't be alarmed if you hear sirens or see law enforcement and emergency vehicles on the campuses.
For the safely of everyone involved, we ask you not to come to the schools or call the school offices during the drills. These are ONLY training exercises, not real emergencies.
We thank first responders for assisting the district with prioritizing school safety and preparedness.
