The Dumas High School students went to the FBLA District III Leadership Conference on October 15 at the Grand Prairie Center in Stuttgart, AR. All officers were class of 2026 and were awarded medals for their official positions in FBLA.

We want to keep you informed on what's going on. This will be a DRILL! Active Shooter/Lockdown Drill.
Dumas School District will team up with first responders to conduct active shooter/lockdown drills on the dates below. Please don't be alarmed if you hear sirens or see law enforcement and emergency vehicles on the campuses.
For the safely of everyone involved, we ask you not to come to the schools or call the school offices during the drills. These are ONLY training exercises, not real emergencies.
We thank first responders for assisting the district with prioritizing school safety and preparedness.

The NEA Foundation announced that 48 public school educators from across the country have been selected to receive the esteemed 2026 Traveler's Award for Teaching Excellence. Mr. Ng's Chemistry class conducted a lab titled "Flame Test Laboratory Investigation". Students used wooden splints soaked in salt solutions and placed them in a burner flame to observe the unique flame colors produced by different metal ions. This allowed students to connect flame colors to electron transitions and apply the knowledge of electron configurations to identify an unknown substances.

Mr NG's Physical Science classes conducted a lab experiment titled "Rainbow Lab." Students worked with six test tubes to create different liquid mixtures. They produced new colors and compared starting and ending volumes, highlighting the importance of precision in measurement. These 9th graders are excited about learning at The Dumas High School!
