Culinary and vending companies from around the country help sponsor this event. Every finalist who makes it to this level is already a winner. Finalists are awarded prizes ranging from professional cooking equipment to Culinary Camp scholarships.
This year's competition in Student Chef Showdown is the highest it's ever been since its conception in 2017, totaling 62 district contestants. Six finalists moving on to the Championship round will be announced on the K-12 Culinary Connection Facebook page. The Championship will be held at UA-PTC Little Rock on Friday, March 31st, at 11:00 a.m. This is an open invitation event. Family, friends, school district staff and faculty are encouraged to come and cheer on their finalists. Also, a Facebook Live event will be streamed on the K-12 Culinary Connection Facebook page, hosted by Executive Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, Danya Arnold, and Executive Vice President of Culinary Operations, Matt Murr.

Congratulations to Madison Bruce daughter of Tonya and Michael Bruce for signing to play softball at Mississippi Valley State College.
Coach Scottie Harrison gave a wonderful speech singing her praises which included being All-State as a sophomore, a multi-sport athlete, and a scholar athlete.
