Ms. Patterson’s English classes have been reading lots of Edgar Allan Poe stories this month to get in the mood for Halloween. One of their stories was “The Black Cat”, so it was only right to have one be a surprise visitor!

Seniors and Juniors:
Packets for class rings and cap and gown are outside of the DHS office.
Jostens will be here Friday, October 28th during student lunches to take up deposits or payment for orders.
Remember ALL seniors MUST order a new cap and gown every year because the thread color they use slightly changes.
If a student is absent, orders can be placed on Josten’s website. Payments for orders can also be made on the website.
Money for these materials must be paid directly to Jostens. It will NOT be taken up in the school office.

Ms. Chambers’ and Mrs. Cook’s science club did lab experiments during the club meeting today.

Congratulations to Dumas High School junior, Marcel Haynes and freshman, Sonny Archer for making the Region 3 All-Region Choir during auditions held on Saturday, Oct. 8th at Lakeside High School in Hot Springs. Marcel and Sonny both sing Tenor 1 in the Dumas High School Choir. Marcel placed 21st chair and Sonny 24th chair.

We would like to give a special thanks to Ag Up Equipment for providing our Bobcats with their Ag Bowl shirts!!




Ms. Patterson’s English 10 class summarizes Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Pit and the Pendulum” using images and quotes throughout the story.

One of the Dumas Ladycat’s
service projects this year was a presentation of about 300 items to the Spanish teacher, Ms Nicole Evans, who lost her home to a house fire October 9th. She was so surprised and thankful.
