Reed Elementary is ROLL’N right into Dr. Seuss Week! 📖 A week full of laughter, learning, and lots of Seuss-inspired fun. Let’s make it a GREAT one!

The English Language Learners Program hosted its annual ESL Family Night on February 12, 2026, at Reed Elementary School in the Dumas School District. Families attended with their children for a fun-filled afternoon of learning, creativity, and community engagement. Elementary students enjoyed decorating Valentine boxes for their Valentine cards with the help of their parents and high school volunteers. The high school students assisted the younger students while also earning community service hours. First-grade ELL students delighted the audience with a reading of “Five Little Valentine’s.” Fifth-grade students presented a readers’ theater performance of “Jaime’s Unlucky Day.” Families and students also enjoyed several exciting rounds of Valentine Bingo. The evening concluded with light refreshments and fellowship. With a total of 81 attendees, the event was a tremendous success and a wonderful celebration of family involvement and student achievement.

Dumas School District will be in session tomorrow, February 2, 2026. Buses will run regular routes unless continued icy conditions prevent travel on secondary roads. Gould Students: Pickup will be at the Exxon gas station beginning at 7:00 a.m., with departure at 7:30 a.m. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Student and staff safety remains our top priority, and we look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

Road conditions will be evaluated this afternoon to determine whether school will be in session tomorrow. If school is held, there may be a modified start time and adjusted bus routes. A follow-up notification will be sent once a decision is made.
